KFC’s Original Recipe was first perfected by KFC founder Colonel Harland Sanders more than 60 years ago in Kentucky. To this day, KFC’s Original Recipe is one of the world’s most coveted secret recipes.
In fact, the recipe is so secret, that, to this day, it’s locked away in a high-security vault in Louisville, Kentucky – and only a very few know the Colonel’s secret blend. Even the mixing of the recipe is a top security event – with different KFC teams (in different buildings and companies!) mixing parts of the recipe before it’s all combined and mixed in a top-secret location.
What's not a secret is the fact that to make our Original Recipe chicken, we use fresh Canadian, grain-fed chickens, and like all chickens in Canada, they are raised without the use of hormones. Our trained cooks hand-bread each piece with our famous secret recipe throughout the day. The freshly prepared chicken is then cooked till it’s juicy, golden and irresistible.
